First Cycle of Psychotherapeutic Meetings

Fatigue from Compassion in Psychotherapists
CONTEXT
In May, Psinove launches the First Cycle of Psychotherapeutic Meetings, a series of events and sharing contexts to promote well-being and mental health in psychologists and psychotherapists. The first session will take place on the 18th and will be conducted by our psychologist Inês Amaro on the topic of Compassion Fatigue.
Compassion and empathy are fundamental tools for psychotherapists and psychologists to be effective in working with their clients. However, continuous work with these tools, and in relationship, can bring costs to mental health professionals. Compassion fatigue, experienced by many, corresponds to emotional exhaustion resulting from working with trauma and constant use of empathy.
